About The Cynoya
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide dignified, affordable independent living that promotes stability, personal responsibility, and long-term success. We aim to serve as a trusted housing partner for professionals responsible for discharge planning, supervision, and reentry placement.
The Cynoya is not a shelter, halfway house, or treatment facility. We are an independent living environment designed for adults who are able to manage their own daily needs while benefiting from clear structure, safety standards, and accountability.
Housing Population
The Cynoya specializes in housing the following populations:
- * Justice-Involved Men
Individuals transitioning from prison or jail who require a verified residential address for parole or probation placement and who are capable of independent living. - * Veterans
Veterans exiting VA hospitals, residential treatment programs, shelters, or transitional placements who receive VA benefits or other fixed income and need stable housing during discharge and reintegration. - * Older Adults on Fixed Income
Men age 45 and older receiving SSI, SSDI, pension, or disability income who have been denied traditional housing due to background, credit, or prior housing instability. - * Men Transitioning from Shelters or Institutional Care
Individuals who no longer require emergency shelter or institutional supervision but are not yet positioned for permanent independent housing.
Our Housing Model
The Cynoya operates as a non-medical, non-custodial independent living residence. Residents live in furnished private or shared rooms and are responsible for managing their own activities of daily living, including hygiene, medication management, meals, and appointments.
To ensure safety and accountability, the home maintains:
- * Structured house rules
- * Clear expectations for conduct and cleanliness
- * Security cameras in common areas only (kitchen and living room)
- * Zero-tolerance policies for violence, illegal substances, weapons, and criminal activity
This model supports independence while providing the stability and structure necessary for successful reentry.
Standards & Compliance
The Cynoya maintains professional standards that support referral confidence:
- * Suitable for parole and probation address verification
- * Clear intake and eligibility screening
- * TB screening required prior to move-in
- * Written house rules and resident agreements
- * Immediate removal for safety or compliance violations
- * Cooperation with supervising agencies as permitted by law
We do not provide medical treatment, clinical services, or custodial supervision. Residents must be capable of independent living at the time of admission.
